Video Production Lead | Video Editor

As a video editor my responsibilities included planning videos through creating or editing scripts, recording voice over for them, gathering footage, editing the video and finally creating the thumbnail for YouTube. Video content ranged from focused news videos, documentaries on players or teams in the Overwatch League and in-depth, heavily edited gameplay breakdowns.
When I transitioned to Video Production Lead my responsibilities were to oversee planning for all YouTube content this involved; hiring writers to produce video scripts, editing video scripts, assigning production duties to members of the video team and reviewing video drafts before they would be uploaded to YouTube. Another key part of this role was to review YouTube analytics and to make insights from the data to be used to improve audience engagement with our content.
Apart from creating and overseeing content for the Akshon Esports YouTube channel, I was also involved in contracted editing for OWL teams like the Toronto Defiant or Florida Mayhem. Members of the video team would be tasked with producing different content from team biographies, player reveal trailers and match analysis.
